The Sindathi Empire is the largest nation on Terryth, rivaled only by the Eternal Kingdom of Kcathmar in the east. It is ruled by the Sindathi Emperor, of the Arrigar dynasty.

This province map of the Empire excludes the most northern areas of Tharr and the Northern March.

It is the product of conquest by the fierce horse nomads of the Andesian Plains, the Sindathi. They overran the old Kingdom of Kensorros, most of the Garreth Grandfather Cities, the easternmost lands of the Illar, the Jollarin, and some of the Torrethian ''Marror''. Some of these peoples mostly rule themselves as vassals, and others are directly ruled by Sindathi ''kaibari''. Tharr is a special vassal, created by treaty rather than by conquest after the Tharran warlord Rexlar the Great seized Imperial territory for colonization.

Borders[edit]

The borders of the Empire ebb and flow by local circumstance as barbarian incursions succeed or are pushed back, but are roughly between the Aggonavid Mountains in the west, north over the Andesian Plains to the World's Crown Mountains, east to the Vallyrin Wood and Raven River, and south to the Sea of Storms, excluding Deepshadow and the Sunset Kingdom. Imperial authority over Sea Haven has never been direct and waxes or wanes over generations. Imperial authority fully encompasses the Raithos and Shemali rivers.

Great portions of the Andesian Plains are full of ethnic Sindathi, but the traditional nomadic ''fenbari'' play little role in the Empire and are not directly administered.

Classes in the Empire[edit]

The fenbari are those Sindathi who live according to the ancient customs, living free lives of raiding, herding, and freedom on the Andesian Plains.

The anbari are the settled, common Sindathi who make up the great majority of the population.

Sibbari are the lowest level of nobles, who receive special privileges and powers above the anbari. In return, they are sworn to their own kaibari. In fact, the word sibbar means "sworn man."

Kaibari are "men of war," and are the median level of nobility in the Empire. Every kaibar has sufficient holdings and power to raise at least a small military force, and they are expected to do so when commanded by their Emperor.

The avo'kaibari are the "greatest men of war" and are personally sworn directly to the Emperor and no one else. Avo'kaibari are the largest landholders and most powerful nobles in the Empire, powerful enough to occasionally form realistic threats to the Emperor himself.

Finally, avyn avo'kaibar is the formal and rather archaic name for the Emperor himself. It translates as something like "divine lord of the greatest men of war."
