If The Sindathi Twilight Trilogy Was On HBO
Guest article by Michelle Moore – Composer and Musician, and fan of The Sindathi Twilight Trilogy
Reviewers and readers alike recognize that Book I of the Sindathi Twilight Trilogy fires an opening salvo in the battle to assume a position as a potential heir to that incredibly successful fantasy television series that made household names of everyone associated with it… A Song Of Ice And Fire by George R. R. Martin. After reading Book I of A.M. Sterling’s series, I was immediately struck by how satisfyingly this book filled the itch I have for fantasy world-views and epic-scope ‘man vs. man + man vs. milieu’ story arcs that really let the characters grow and clash.
In 2017 as The Mountain Throne came into print, I ran across a filmmakers’ contest. I don’t make films, I write music. But the nature of the contest meant I didn’t have to create a film – contest entries were limited to 1-minute length, and they provided hundreds (if not thousands) of film clips specifically for this contest. There were categories for filmmakers and soundtrack creators. So I chose to imagine up an opening credits scene. If I were to take The Mountain Throne to execs at HBO or Showtime or Netflix and pitch Sindathi Twilight as a television series, this is how I’d do it… click Play and enjoy.
